Ag in the Classroom - 4 Simple Ways You Can Thank a Farmer this November!

The purpose of the Georgia Agriculture in the Classroom is to increase agricultural literacy among children and the general public. It provides tools for more effective teaching about agriculture and its role in an interdependent society, and to assist Georgia ’s educators in implementing the instruction of agriculture-related concepts in the classroom. This mission is achieved through the activities of county Farm Bureau volunteers in their local communities and through teacher training courses held throughout the state.
Agriculture has seen great changes through the years, and Georgia’s farmers have adapted. They continue to provide diverse agricultural products to consumers, but farming today is more than just growing crops and raising livestock. An intricate, high-tech network of processing, marketing and distribution moves agricultural commodities from the farmer to the consumer. All these work together to provide you with the safest, most abundant, and most secure food supply in the world. This November let’s tell our farmers “thank you” for providing us with the food, fiber and timber we depend on daily.

- Visit a Certified Farm Market near you
- Write a thank you letter to a farmer (see samples below)
- Donate to the GFB Foundation to help with Hurricane Michael Storm Relief Efforts
- Share this blog on social media to let others be aware of Georgia’s number 1 industry...agriculture!
